Cars in Germany's Town Found Marked with Swastikas in Blood, Police Report

Authorities stated they were contacted by a individual who noticed a car in Hanau marked with red-colored substance

Approximately 50 cars have been marked with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the German town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.

Cars, walls and postboxes were defaced, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they stated in a statement.

Law enforcement state they were alerted late on Wednesday night, when a man noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored fluid.

The liquid had been drawn in the form of a swastika, they reported.

Police then located multiple other marked automobiles and building exteriors in the surrounding area.

Swastikas are illegal in Germany under regulations outlawing the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.

Officials report early analysis indicate the liquid was likely blood from a person.

"At present there remains no indication as to where it came from; officials are currently not informed of any harm in association with the incident," they commented.

Municipal representatives announced they were working "to resolve the case" and have requested to the community for tips.

An important official stated the vandalism made him stunned and had to be addressed quickly.

"This incident affects the core of Hanau and revives the trauma of the extremist violent incident half a decade ago," he wrote on a platform, mentioning the death of nine individuals by a gunman focusing on people of immigrant origin in five years prior.
